Our two Swiss guests left today.

After spending lots of quality time on the flats and in the lagoons, JeanLuc and Clair reluctantly boarded their early-morning flight home to Switzerland. It was a great 2 weeks, full of casting lessons, long hot sunny days, hot windy days, wonderful meals and lots of Swiss/English conversations. He bagged a few permit, tarpon and bonefish and went home a better saltwater angler who is already planning next year's trip. Our thanks go out to our European agent!

WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL BLOGSPOT OF WHIPRAY CAYE LODGE, BELIZE

There are many reasons to visit the country of Belize. We have beautiful seas, amazing wildlife, and incredible mountains, rivers, and jungle life, not to mention the lovely and diverse people of Belize.

Julian Cabral, longtime resident of the Village of Placencia and descended from the original Cabrals who settled here over 200 years ago, started exploring the art of fly-fishing over 20 years ago when anglers from the USA hired him to guide them through the fishing flats inside the Belize Barrier Reef off the coast of the Placencia Peninsula. His skills for catching the elusive permit, tarpon and bonefish - the Holy Grail of fly fishing - have become legend, and much of his time these days is spent teaching the newbies to the sport of saltwater fly fishing, as well as hosting anglers from North America and Europe at his family home and lodge on Whipray Caye.
